How to Shape Your Mindset and Become Rich
There are different definitions of “rich” out there. Some say that being rich means being surrounded by friends and family. Others define it as having a bunch of money. Still others consider living a free life to do whatever they please to be the ultimate richness.
For the sake of clarity here, I’m talking about wealth. I’m talking about getting to the point where you are happy with the amount of money coming in and you feel rich because of the number of zeros in your bank account.

Why the Rich Life Mindset is Important
I was raised in a rather conservative Southern Baptist home. Now, my point here isn’t to rag on the Southern Baptists, nor conservatives, nor even to say that religion is bad or wrong. I still attend church, and still have faith in Jesus Christ as my savior.
The point here, however, is that when you’re brought up a certain way, you develop these mindsets that are largely subconscious. And sometimes they’re just plain wrong.
I was raised with the idea that desiring money is greedy, so don’t do it. And if you see someone with, let’s say a sweet boat, don’t covet their boat because that’s wrong. And you should be content with what you have, even if you have very little, because if you’re not content and you desire more then you’re sinning.
All of these mindsets are incorrect.
But they worked their way into my subconscious and my belief system, so that for years I felt I was doing something wrong when I tried to make more money, and get to the point where I could call myself rich.
Now, I’m actively reshaping those mindsets, desiring a greater income, and working my tail off to get there. Every morning I thank God for what he has provided for me, and I ask him to bring me an abundance of wealth.
How to Get into the Rich Life Mindset
There are two things that you have to do in order to get into that wealth mindset.
First, you have to recognize the beliefs engrained in you that are holding you back. Mine is a lifetime of scarcity thinking, and of self-limiting beliefs on the “evils” of money. I’m reshaping those into abundance thinking, and knowing that money is a tool that can be used for a lot of great things.
Second, you have to start “manifesting” the money. Now, I hate that word, so I’ll say it a little differently. You have to start imagining that money, how it will come in, what you will use it for, and how great you will feel when you’re making a buttload of money.
This won’t happen overnight. But when you start to think yourself rich, you can start to be rich.
